TY 22 – April 8th

Tikvat Yisrael is proud to bring you TY 22 featuring three minyan options: a vibrant Orthodox minyan, a Traditional Egalitarian minyan that is a collaboration of Ansche Chesed and Kehilat Hadar, and Shabbat Unplugged: Shaaray Tefila‘s Rockin’ Reform Minyan, followed by dinner, and a talk by Rabbi James Ponet, the Howard M. Holtzman Jewish Chaplain of Yale University. Rabbi Ponet has led the Yale Jewish community for 30 years, is a graduate of the Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion, a founding fellow of the Shalom Hartman Institute and has taught classes at both Yale College and the Yale Law school with such notables as Dr. Ruth Westheimer. He will be delivering a talk entitled “Why are there Jews in the world? How Jewish prayer and practice across the spectrum attempts to answer this question”.

Thank you for joining us at TY 20, on Friday, December 17! Those of you who were there enjoyed our continuing series discussing streams of Judaism, featuring Rabbi David Ingber, Founder and Spiritual Leader of Romemu, who spoke on “Underpinnings of Renewal Judaism.”

We hope to see you at TY 21, Friday, February 11, featuring two speakers from the National Havurah Committee speaking on “Underpinnings of Havurah Judaism, The Havurah Movement, Then and Now.”
